Progesterone
Testing is used to determine the exact day that your bitch is
most likely to get pregnant if inseminated This is almost an
absolute requirement for breeding bulldogs and other animals. If
you mate your English bulldog before or after her peek time you
risk the chance of missing a litter
Testing should begin with the first test being 7 days after
first sign of blood, this first test will give you a basis on
where your dog stands, most dogs require 3 tests to pinpoint the
exact day
Depending on the results of the first test, the second test will
be approximately 2-4 days following, this will indicate the jump
or speed in which your pet is advancing and it will also
determine the date of the third test, which if your bitch is
ovulating properly will determine the day, occasionally a bitch
will drop back down and require a fourth test but is unlikely
but does happen in rare cases
It is possible to make just one or two tests but we will always
recommend 3 |

methods of testing besides laboratory result but these are very
unreliable and you risk the chance of missing your bitches prime
time |

| Preparation |
| There is not much
preparation for the test, blood will need to be draw for each
test, in the future we will offer home extraction but for the
meantime we only do in-house testing |

| We have invested
thousands of dollars in laboratory equipment and testing
supplies and were trained by a US Technician which
specializes in english bulldogs, we drove 9000 kilometers to
complete this task |

| Currently we are
not offering services to the general public, however if you live
in the Montréal Quebec area and are available for an
experimental test we will do it free of charge as we are
training two new technicians Future Services |
We will be offering
progesterone testing in Canada with the following guidelines
1 Test 50$
2 tests 90$
3 Tests 125$
Extraction of blood in your home
1st extraction 20$
2nd extraction 15$
3rd extraction 12$
Blood can be sent to us using FedEx, Purolator or any other
overnight services, drop-off is available and extraction at our
establishment can be done for 10$ , results can be faxed,
emailed or transmitted by telephone |
